Advanced Facial Procedures

Microneedling, also known as Collagen induction Therapy (CIT), is a cosmetic procedure which uses very fine, sterile needles to repeatedly puncture the skin, creating a ‘controlled trauma response’ within the epidermis. This response in the skin encourages an increased production of collagen and elastin rich tissues and helps with overall skin rejuvenation.

Microneeding can be used as a treatment for skin issues such as, skin texture, scarring, pigmentation, dullness, and wrinkles.

Katharine approaches micro needling in a non aggressive way to the skin using SkinPen, a clinically tested and proven micro needling device used by leading health practitioners, dermatologists and aestheticians.

To begin, skin is topically numbed to ensure maximum comfort throughout your treatment, and then the areas to be treated will also be infused with a vial of active ingredients, such as growth factors, peptides and vitamins to promote the effects of the needling.

Afterwards, skin is calmed and soothed using a calming and hydrating mask, and LED to help promote healing and further collagen production in the skin.

DOWNTIME

This treatment has a varying amount of downtime, lasting from 24-72 hours depending on treatment and each individual.

Skin will initially appear and feel sunburnt, looking flushed, feeling warm and tight. After this has dissipated, skin may feel dry for a few days afterwards, and subsequent skin peeling in the treated areas may occur too.

PREPARATION & AFTERCARE

There are a number of considerations in regards to preparing your skin for micro needling, aftercare, and making sure you are an ideal candidate for micro needling. For this reason a thorough skin consultation will be carried out to make sure you are not contraindicated for this treatment.
