FAQs

Here are answers to some of our most commonly asked questions regarding treatments.

APOINTMENT ETIQUETTE :

Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before your appointment time as we may not be able to let you in if we are busy seeing other clients.

WHAT DO I WEAR FOR A TREATMENT?

When having a facial at KMP Skin, for optimum comfort we suggest you wear loose comfortable clothing, and if you are having any ablative procedures, such as micro needling, to avoid wearing any clothing that may rub or irritate the treated area for up to 48 hours post treatment.

DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING TO MY SKIN BEFORE A TREATMENT?

We advise you to refrain from using any ‘actives’ (exfoliating ingredients such as AHA’s/BHA’s, Glycolic/Latic acids), and ‘retinoids’ (products containing Vitamin A) 48 -72 hours before your treatment.

If you are taking an oral skin antibiotic/roaccutane, you may not be suitable for any treatment and for up to 6 months after a course of oral/topical treatment – please let us know when booking, as we may not be able to treat you.

If you are wearing make up before your treatment, do not worry, your skin will be thoroughly cleansed, but if you can avoid wearing as much make up as possible on the day of treatment, it is advised.

CAN I BOOK IN FOR A FACIAL IF I HAVE BOTOX OR FILLERS?

Yes, you can receive treatments at KMP Skin with neurotoxin (e.g Botox) or fillers, but so as to not interfere with the integrity of these treatments, we advise not booking in for a facial 7 -10 days after receiving neurotoxin, or 14 days after having facial filler or as directed by your practitioner administering these treatments.

ARE YOUR TREATMENTS PREGNANCY SAFE?

Some of our treatments are not advised during pregnancy or when breastfeeding, but KMP Skin welcomes people that are pregnant, trying to get pregnant or in post partum. Please advise your therapist as soon as you know you are expecting- treatments can always be tailored and adapted to be able to accommodate you and make you feel as comfortable as possible.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY ‘DOWNTIME’?

Some of the more results driven treatments we offer at KMP Skin, such as peels or micro needling may have some ‘downtime’ attached to them. By this we mean that immediately after your treatment, and in some cases for some time afterwards, there may be some visible changes to skin, such as redness, sensitivity, or mild peeling. When you undergo treatments requiring more ‘downtime’ at KMP Skin, these treatments will be flagged to you, and post treatment indications will be explained before having treatment.

Hopefully these FAQ’s will have answered your questions, please do not hesitate to drop us an email if you are unable to find an answer to your query. Further information can also be found on our terms and conditions page.
